Trump Says King Charles Backs Him on Blocking Iran’s Nuclear Program
Speaking at the event, Trump referred to ongoing tensions in the Middle East and US military activity in the region, describing current developments as progressing positively.
He said his administration was actively engaged in regional operations, adding that the situation was “going very well.”
“We have militarily defeated that particular opponent, and we're never going to let that opponent ever -- Charles agrees with me even more than I do -- we're never going to let that opponent have a nuclear weapon,” Trump said.
He also claimed that Iran had been militarily defeated, though he did not provide additional details to support the assertion.
The comments come in the context of heightened US-Iran tensions following a joint US-Israel military offensive earlier this year, which was followed by Iranian strikes on US-related interests across the region, including in Gulf states, according to earlier reports.
A ceasefire was announced on April 8 through Pakistani mediation, with follow-up talks held in Islamabad on April 11–12. However, those negotiations ended without a final agreement.
Trump later stated that the truce had been extended at Pakistan’s request while awaiting further proposals from Tehran.
